How did you tell them to leave the package? Phone call? Delivery option on their website?
By doing that, you're basically lifting them from any responsibility since you're the one that asked for a non-signed delivery, if Steam contacts the courier and asks for infos they will relay this detail and the DNA won't work

The deliveryman called me to ask me where he could put the package when he was delivering because no one was home. I did not specify anything on the website itself.
