If I block my card and ask my bank for another one, will that really prevent Amazon from debiting me again? Because they have the account information that is linked to that card, right?

How would they do that without valid card on file?

There is such a thing as VAU (Visa account updater) that links your new cards to the old, closed one
You gotta opt out of that if you want to prevent rebilling (google around, I don't have a lot of infos about it)
