Might be a stupid expedient to catch us red-handed.
Yet, I still have to hear from people whose Quest 2 have been banned once using it AFTER receiving the refund.

just opened mine and it went straight to claim

2 hours ago I received a mail by Meta in which they said that all affected refunds had been reprocessed by their Specialist team and suggested me to reach out to my financial institution or card  to see if the pending transaction could now be seen. Still, no refund email by PayPal.
Then, just a couple of minutes ago, I finally got a mail by PayPal. It wasn't about Meta finally handing out my refund, though; it was about me winning the dispute.
So, I'd say Meta kept telling bullshit until the very end, and I'm glad that PayPal was there to save the day!

Yeah they said the same to me. I contacted paypal regarding the issue, they said ask for the transaction ID of the refund. Meta then said to me they were experiencing errors and they will get back to me one the department have sorted it out. Will probably dispute on paypal now.
