Two employees examined the box seals briefly, asked me why i was returning the item and asked for my name and my address as I was returning the product for cash. Of course I told them my real name and address lol. I was a little caught off guard when they did ask for those details but I played It off and my refund was issued there and then.

In terms of asking about the return and requesting ID, both Kmart and Target operate In a similar fashion.

Harris Scarfe also tends to do the same.

The refund could have happened faster by doing it a little later in the day when it would have been busier as there were two employees at the service desk and both of them examined the seals (one of them was even feeling the seals itself) however it is hard to say whether they actually knew what they were looking for when feeling it.

To play It safe, hit It when they're Inundated with customers at the service counter.

They're less likely to have the time to check the return In the manner you've described.
