[Success] Razer Deathadder Essential White SE 05-11-2022, 12:43 PM

Hello everyone,
I was able to successfully SE a mouse from Razer themselves using the Serial Number method.
The mouse is $30, I wasn't looking for value for this SE, I just wanted to see if I could pull it off.
The whole process took around one month.
Disclaimer: This is not a tutorial, your experience with the representatives may be different depending on how they manage your claim, and how you respond to them.
The following is a summary of what happened:
In preparation for the SE I went on YouTube to look for a valid SN. It took me 5 minutes to find one, and I proceeded to register it on the Razer website.
Then I went onto their support site, and I created a ticket, saying that the mouse wasn't working.
A few hours later I received an automated email with a set of troubleshooting instructions that I promptly ignored, and replied to this email saying that the mouse wouldn't work no matter what I did.
The next emails weren't automated. I was connected to different representatives that asked different things of me.
Here's a list of what the asked for, and how I dealt with it.
- Proof of Purchase: I used Receipt Mansion to create an Amazon.com invoice and I sent it to them.
However they got back to me saying that they needed the POP in .pdf format.
I took an invoice of another order that I had on Amazon.com, and edited the .pdf to match the one I sent before. The software I used for that was Nitro PDF.
- A video showing the mouse and how it wasn't working: I recorded a one minute long video of me plugging a random usb cable on different ports of my computer, and clicking my mouse, while explaining that the mouse wasn't working.
Then I edited the video to only show the first 20 seconds of the video where the mouse isn't seen, and put a black screen on top of the rest of the video, so that only the sound would be heard. The software I used for this was Adobe After Effects.
The video was then uploeaded to YouTube, and I sent them the link. They got back to me saying that the video wasn't working, to which I replied that it was working on my end and that they should try again.
They accepted it and moved on.
- Another POP, this time a specific Amazon.com invoice: I had no means of obtaining this invoice, and even if I did, it would contain sensible information that they would be able to verify.
I told them that I wasn't able to find this invoice anywhere on my Amazon account, but they insisted for 2-3 more emails until they gave up and requested the next piece of verification.
- A picture of the underside of the mouse, with the SN visible and a piece of paper with my case ID written on it: This one was another proof that was difficult to obtain, so I ignored them for a couple of days while I thought what to do with it. After these two days I received a follow up email saying that if everything was okay on my end, they would close the case.
Obviously it was not okay on my end, so I contacted them back expressing my frustration with the service, saying that it had been two weeks since the process started and that I still didn't have a working mouse, despite having provided everything that they asked for.
Surprisingly, they replied saying that my case was approved for RMA and that I would hear back from them in 2-3 business days. That's when I received an email that asked for the final piece of evidence.
- A picture of the underside of the mouse, with the SN showing and the cord of the mouse cut: They said that my case was approved for RMA, and that for them to send me a replacement, I had to provide a "cut cord proof".
This was the last piece of the puzzle, so I had to make it work. I went onto YouTube again to source pictures of the mouse in the position they asked for, and 5 minutes later I had one that I could work with.
I went into Adobe Photoshop and did my best to erase the cord of the mouse and change the SN to match the one I originally registered. In the end it looked believable, so I sent it to them.
Finally today I received the confirmation that the RMA was being processed and that I would be sent a replacement in 3-5 business days. Success!
I want to thank @mothered for all the information in their website that allowed me to confidently go through this SE.
I'm willing to answer any questions!
