Also, the laptop in question has a reported weight of 1.9kg in the manufacturer's website. On Amazon though the package weight is only 1kg. Am I missing something here?

When I did wrong item received, here is bullet pointed the order of how I did things for success:
- I ordered iPhone to my address
- I ordered "wrong item" to an Amazon locker on a different account using a different device and a different bank card
- I got in touch with Amazon about 20 minutes after my order arrived saying I had received wrong item - they demanded police report - I disputed this on the phone and got put through to manager
- Manager told me to send pictures of wrong item in iPhone Amazon box with pictures of the Amazon box barcodes etc. (this was a tight fit with the "wrong item" I used, so I recommend trying to order something of similar dimensions to a laptop to avoid running into issues with this
- They told me to send it back, so I obliged and UPS picked it up the next day
- I had to wait 2 weeks for my refund as they didnt scan it on delivery which was annoying but refund did land.
This is a brief breakdown of what happened with my Wrong Item received method and it was a great success.

I am but a simple gnome who likes free things, none of this is real. It is all simply fiction.
