How often is it that the drivers word hold no value? Because with my recent SE they will not compensate me based soley off the driver's word that he delivered the product?

Of course he'll say the package was delivered.

Who's to say he's telling the truth? He could've made the whole thing up and there's no evidence to suggest he's being truthful, which Is why verbal verification holds no value whatsoever. You should've pursued your claim further based on what I've just said.
