Oh man, a little tricky.  You don't want to get caught filing a report with a fake name.  There is nothing wrong with filing a legit report.  Simple facts, some cops may try to trick you.  Stick to your facts that you know.   

You can always us a fake # or report.  Report  numbers are usually like this -    month - how many calls your police department  has to date, so an example for 3/27/2022 would be case number 03-15377...........03 for March and 15377 cause it's the end of the month and theres been more case numbers.  I highly doubt that they are going to pay to get a copy.  If they do tell them you filed it somewhere elsewhere,  different town, city, etc.

They are counting  on you to be afraid to call-in a report . Most of the time Cops won't do anything about that, there's not enough time to investigate and almost impossible to track it all down.

The original purchase was addressed in my friends name, so I got my friend to file a PR in his name. I haven’t used a fake name, so everything should be fine right?
