I can confirm that ordering form a different country's Amazon store bypassed the OTP, and even if it was literally the only order i did there (except a small item 4 gears ago) I succeeded since all the Amazon accounts are "shared", you can actually use the same mail and password for every one of them

I believe that they may not issue a refund without photographic evidence, given the value of the item.

It would also be possible to use a lighted cigarette as a smoking prop under the laptop as evidence.

Based on the information @Nabeshin provided, my plan is now to
1. Order the item from a different region Amazon site and bypassing the OTP
2. Claim DNA.
3. If the claim seems to fail for some reason, I would close the case saying the neighbors had it or something. Then proceed to hit disposed of the faulty item with faked photographic evidence.
