Just last week I saw an article about a Hermes Delivery driver caught throwing parcels into a field out the back of his car because he couldn't be bothered delivering them

I've actually personally witnessed on CCTV footage, a DHL driver arriving at the premises, hanging around for a few minutes (for tracking/GPS confirmation), and leaving with the package In hand.

It's not surprising that carrier drivers are sometimes responsible for nonreceipt of goods.
