Their thinking was asshat backwards, I am all for one of the most influential people in US history to have all of his actions both good and bad readily available, but this just seems backwards. For a society that breathes “individualism” it sure is about everyone conforming to the norms.

It is a dangerous game and people are too thin-skinned. For some, teaching about a person's mistakes isn't enough. They want to erase the person's existence.
