Not sure why the carrier would cross check things because you're only contacting them to return the package that isn't addressed to you.

He'd need to enter the consignment details for the return, and then process the Information at the depot to establish whether the package will be redirected, or returned to the company.

Either way, the Information Is cross-checked for administration purposes, package allocation and cost of freight - which will ultimately Identify the account holder of the original purchase.
