Personal experience with FTID and how it failed before delivery #1
Hello. I live in a country where COVID measures mean closed depots for customers. Basically meaning, you can't enter there and you can only arrange a courier to come to your place and pick the package up. So I had to do that, printed my "FTID 3" label, edited perfectly.
The courier arrived and the first thing I saw was their own company label. They labeled it over my FTID label.
And this is basically why FTID isn't recommended to do.

Few words though, why it may have failed:
- DHL is not anymore in the country I've sent the letter from. They may drive over here but some other company has taken over their customers. So it makes sense, to label it with their own label and just have a RETURN CONNECT feature available for customers.
- They also may expect that majority of customers don't have a label printed out and they just received the tracking number.
- I have received the label from the A store and did not have to buy it myself. The author of the so-named book that teaches you to refund basics recommends you this type of label. I may try in the future to do the other way around, buying the label and trying the same method.

What are your thoughts? What could I have done better? Any ideas on how to prevent this?
Thank you for any feedback!

I'm not surprised one bit.

Don't waste your time, choose another method.

Update: I have sent 2 different packages for random people who asked me to box it for them with their label from my country.
One of these people was scanned by DHL and the other package is coming into amazon, without any updates of the label. What is going to happen now? They must've thought the 2 package are the same package and they only labeled one of them and somehow made these two stick to eachother.

So basically we right now have "one package of two letters, both with different DHL barcodes and same recipient address"
I guess the one scanned package is doomed but, what about the other one, which has gone through without any scans? @mothered

Given you believe It hasn't been scanned and no updates on the label, how do you know that It's on Its way to Amazon?

It can be scanned at any point from the time It arrives at their depot, to when It's loaded Into the van and also at the delivery point.

I actually don't know it's on the way to Amazon, but the shipping company has not contacted me yet. I just suppose it's on the way there as the courier has taped these two packages as one where they are two.

Could this somehow make them lose the package in the depo? I can imagine this is how a loss in transit happens, with the exception that this hasn't been yet scanned though.
I don't know what is going to happen but I have this feeling that it will never be scanned at all

Carriers operate on a scanning system which (as mentioned above), takes place at their depot and also when dispatched to the destination. If It's International freight, It can be scanned as many as 10 or more times (from one depot to another) until It's finally marked as delivered.

There are many reasons why a package Is lost In transit, one of which Is misplacing It (hence lost) before being scanned.
