RE: DNA - Courier consequences #11
Would assume they would leave with the package and attempt a redelivery if no one opened the door. That, or leave it with a neighbour

I suggest being very careful with using the DNA method if your courier is DPD. They have really stepped their game. They will also make their drivers fully aware of what you done, even if they have no evidence, and they will act differently towards you.

DPD now class a parcel as *successfully delivered" even if it's just left at your door with no humans in the picture. As the driver will take a photo of it, and the GPS in the van will show it being in the same location.

I failed a £90 ASOS DNA with DPD. And I have extended experience with SE'ing, including utilizing the DNA method. Actually I think that this was the first DNA I have ever failed ...
If there is not my signature on the deliver you didn't delivered it. End.
I don't care what you wrote on the online-tracking-deliver.

Either don't open It, or rearrange the entryway prior to their arrival.

After the photo Is taken, place everything back as per normal. This gives the appearance as though It's not your home In the photo.
I always hear this, I would be curious to see a photo of before and after of a photo taken by the courier and later when you rearrange the entrance, just to have an example.

Are you suggesting that the carrier will make his/her return to take another photo, subsequent to the Initial one?

I think they could, if it's worth it of course.

In that case, simply rearrange everything as per the carrier's previous visit.

When he/she leaves, once again, put everything back.

They cannot open your door and take photos.

When you hear a knock, stall them for around 2 minutes whilst you're rearranging the entryway.

Wait a minute, so the courier typically takes the photo of the entryway of the anteroom of the house when you open the door, doesn't left the package outside (near the gate if you have one) and take a photo there?

It depends on the carrier and their protocol.

My post Is based on the worst-case scenario, namely the entryway. If the package Is left at the external premises, It's perfect DNA material. A passerby (seemingly) stole It, which defeats the purpose of taking a photo to begin with.
