Name the Items, and we'll work from there.

Anyone have any luck SEing high end skincare/makeup? Partial EB/missing item seems like the best starting point. I guess what I'm curious about is what kind of safeguards a fulfillment center is going to have in place (if any) to verify contents of a shipment before it's sent out.

It depends on the weight of the Item.

If It's light enough to not register a weight on consignment, then the shipment cannot be cross-checked with the carrier's manifest.

Let's say you want to buy 20 different T-Shirts.
Is it best to use the UPS api behavior or missing item?

The missing Item method (on receipt of goods), Is based against the weight of the Item. If It's significant to register a weight on consignment and an Investigation Is opened by cross-checking the carrier's manifest, then the SE Is destined to fail.

How many Items are you planning to SE, Inclusive of the weight?

I like to go safe. Rather than modifying the reality, I'll say overweight. Let's say 3-4kg of items. I obviously can use Missing Item but for how many? It would be great to refund all of it. For example, Empty Package wouldn't work this time. So I'm guessing FTID would work or DNA? Well from my experience in the country I live in the DNA method is very hard to do because they always open carrier investigation and eventually it gets very risky.

As said, It depends on the weight of each Item.

For example, If one Item weighs 600 grams, It will "definitely" register a weight at the carrier's depot- namely their weighing facilities. As such, It could not have been missing when the company's warehouse personnel picked, packed and dispatched the consignment. All In all, both the company and carrier have released themselves from liability.

Evidently the empty package will fail. Not only will the weight of all Items be registered, but It's also extremely unlikely (If not Impossible) for the stores to make a picking error with so many Items "on the same order".

Forget about the flawed "so-called" FTID. Simply DNA It.

An Investigation Is part of company protocol to move forward with the claim, and put pen to paper In approving It thereafter.

In fact, the majority have a successful outcome.

I like that I'm not the only one thinking everybody does opt.1 or opt.2 instead of the 3rd option which is probably how FTID was meant to be. The thing is, you can do MI/EP/DNA only so much. FTID? No way courier would suspect anything as he doesn't get blamed for your item not being delivered, for example.

The issue is, I live in a building with receptionist, and usually, I don't even get called by the courier, or if I do they tell me they left it at the reception. The reception has CCTV and many people see it was delivered. I can't just say it didn't get delivered - if they actually asked the courier if it was delivered to me, I would be the suspect. No way for me to talk it out - or can you see some hole? I prefer stepping away from DNA and rather risk the flawed FTID if DNA is not absolutely necessary.

Also thank you for this, I didn't realize it was actually not the package weight what matters but per-item that matters. Meaning if you have 3 very low weight items they all could've never been in the package because of their warehouse error.

Correct, but the Issue Is that packages are weighed on consignment, and the FTID weight will differ to that of what the Item actually weighs.

And If you're thinking of sending It to a different address, carriers work on a scanning system and do not go by what's written on the shipping label, so this too, will fail.

Simply use a drop for the DNA.

You're very welcome.

Yes, It Is the "Item" (net) weight that's of relevance, and not the package (gross) weight. The only time you work with the gross weight, Is If you're claiming that the entire box (and obviously Its contents) was missing from the package that It was wrapped In.

But what if you sent it to correct address but the last digit of building for example would differ? That would, eventuelly work or what do you think? There must be a way to have a consistent method.

Is there some information about drops? I'm not always at home when the delivery comes, how do people manage drops? Are there any good information about them? Thank you, mothered!
