Take the hit, I'd check with others also but you may be able to return it for a full refund. Never encountered it personally with a wrong item received though.

how would you approach the situation: asking them to return the item after i told them several times about having received a wrong item?

I've mentioned countless times that a claim (predominantly) cannot move forward without a police report, and this certainly confirms my statement.

That aside, you can still save the SE. Are they requesting you to email It In the form of an attachment?

I performed around 10 times the wrong item SE strategy with my different accounts, this is the first time they asked me for a police report. In your experience they always request you a police report for a wrong item SE?

About the email, yes they are still requiring me to attach the document.
From what i understand during the chats and the calls, my case has been assigned to an amazon department that communicates to me only through emails, so no decision can be made by the call and chat operators

10 accounts? Could you please tell me more about this? Do you use drop? Virtual Credit card? 10 invented identities?

Then use the Corrupted File method, I think that you have still some possibility of succeeding this SE.

they entrusted the case to the police department because they noticed that the orders on your account have a pattern ... they also asked for a photo report? however I hope you did everything under a figurehead ..

not 10 accounts, i performed the wrong item strategy 10 times overall in the 6 accounts i have.
Every account has a different madeup name, using a different address ,a different phone number and different ip (vpn).
Basically i use addresses near my home that aren't related to a home, here in italy some street numbers aren't related to a building, they are just streets, or even if it is a an edifice like a shopping center the courier still needs a reference to find me, so he has to call me and i can say him to meet to aplace nearby
I don't know in other countries, but In italy you can buy on local shops amazon recharges that a have a code that you can use to recharge your amazon account credits, this recharges can be paid in cash and are not in anyway related to a specific account, they can be used in any account.

If you're going to use the corrupted file method, you will not obtain a police report, but rather send them any file In a corrupted format.
