Unusual package pick up DPD #1
A while ago I attempted To DNA a UK company called ASOS. The driver left the package on my doorstep with the door slightly ajar and took a photo yet there was no human in the photo, which in my opinion was perfect grounds for a DNA. Regardless, this failed. ASOS refused to refund by all means. I later simply returned the package and got my money refunded. Throughout this whole process, which took a few weeks, I had a few legitimate deliveries by the same DPD driver, who kept asking my other household members to talk to me personally, and I received multiple phone calls from him personally regarding the ASOS DNA. Each time I kept saying he has the wrong number as I did not want to speak to him. Soon after our delivery driver happened to change to a different one.

A few days ago I got a DPD driver come to my door, another house hold member answered it. The driver informed said household member that he was here to pick up a package that was scheduled to be returned by me, and had my name down against it. Therefore this household member called me down and I ended up speaking the the driver. I instantly realized it was the same one from the ASOS scenario. I also had not requested that anything be picked up for a return from any company, and did not recognize the company that requested this at all. After telling this to the driver he kept asking if I am " such and such, (my name)". I obviously denied it twice and just said I'm someone else, gave a fake name, and said that my girlfriend lives at this place. He then gave up and left but noted down what happened.

Has anyone had any similar experiences, or thinks this is a little unusual. Any Reason to be paranoid? Its the one and only time this house number has attempted a DNA with DPD. However it seemed to really bother this driver personally....

That is extremely strange. There is another post sharing a similar experience in this forum. I must say I have not had this happen to me with any of my DNAs. That being said I have done these only on Amazon and I know that there are several drivers who operate in my area.

I do not believe that the driver was tasked with detective work to find out more information regarding this case. I would think that it is the driver's own desire to pursue this situation and perhaps report to someone about his findings to save his job/save himself from having an angry manager. As such you can think of it as harassment attempt and if he shows up again bring that point up. I am sure this will be the last time you see him.

The only suspicious behaviour I have noticed was after my last DNA (£429). I noticed that each and every delivery from Amazon (as in the courier is Amazon) is accompanied by a photo of my parcel being left in my safe place. No matter how cheap or expensive the item is the driver always takes a photo or alternatively if I answer the door requests for my name. Up until that point I had only had a photo taken a very few times and I had never been asked to confirm my name. As such I have concluded that DNA will have to be retired at least for a while as it seems Amazon is monitoring my activity closer than usual.

You may want to explore other methods for future SEs plus DPD is notoriously hard to deal with in that regard. Last week a good friend of mine had a refund fail because he tried to DNA delivery by DPD.

DPD is a bitch. GPS tracking + they always take a picture with your door open (if you open obviously). I've never even thought of doing DPD from how bad the process must be. I've had about 5 - 10 purchased packages sent to my house in the last few months from DPD all with the same driver/person delivering them and he's very vigorous about taking pictures. Nice guy tho

I'll note what I said to somebody on another post: couriers will sometimes do something drastic. This is their job and they don't want to risk getting any strikes. You're probably fine now, just a guy being scared about hurting his job hence him contacting you a lot.

On what grounds did they decline the claim?
