Amazon.de affidavit #1
Is it safe to sign an affidavit? Amazon is requesting me to sign this for "To clear up this issue as quickly as possible we would ask you to make a sworn statement about the items you have returned.". On the document at the bottom "The signatory is aware that a wrong affidavit can result in criminal prosecution." It was FTID.

As opposed to a statutory declaration, an affidavit Is legally binding and admissible In court.

It may well only be required to move forward with the claim, but I personally wouldn't put pen to paper.
Ultimately, It's your call.

This is where you should give up your SE if you dont want to have anything signed that's legally binding to you, especially if u like to keep your shenanigans on the low-key depending on how much the item in question is and how much you need it/the money I'd make a decision thats most convenient Smile

How much is the item? Once I find this out, I will suggest to you the best action to take.

It's under 1K but I'm not gonna sign that based on the advises. Not worth it to get in trouble for something under 1K.

Not singing would be the better choice in my opinion as well. That is as others have said a legally binding document and as such you wouldn’t want to get in trouble specially for SE under 1000.

Be mindful on future SEs on this account as well. Build up some good order history before you try again from it.

I would do the same. Signing might be a risk for all your future SEs.
