Airpods Pro just arrived. After 4 minutes I went to my pc and opened a ticket with an amazon's rep. Just a simple question such as:
Was the package damage?

And then they ask me to choose between a refund and a replacement. I choose refund and that's it.
Very easy I would say.
First refund with Amazon completed.

What did you answer to that question?

Not the OP, but in that case you'd probably reply that the package looked very poorly handled and there's dents all over. However I look forward to hearing if the OP replied differently.

Just say this. Do not talk too much. These statements will be sufficient to receive a refund. That's it.

Hit Best Buy, by using the sealed box method.

As with the majority of retailers on the same scale, on return, they'll simply place the box back In their Inventory.

Both by Serial number directly at Bose themselves and by using DNA on Amazon.
