Pulling a few strings here, I'm sure this can be improved vastly, but you can go with a blown capacitor. Say it was giving a hissing sound, then a sudden pop and smoke.
You'd want to be absolutely certain, that this can and does In fact happen with the make & model of the said TV.

Any Inaccurate Information, may result In a failed SE.
Would there be another way to manage to succeed this SE without sending anything back?
As long as you are living, you will face problems. But you serve a God who solves problems.

Possible? Yes. Probable? No.
Capacitors are in any TV. There's always a chance of them failing. Just very unlikely, especially with newer hardware.

Without sending anything is a little tough. (But the tough SE's are the best feeling Biggrin )
You can try for corona/ other deathly contagious disease (I haven't succeeded with this one yet lol).

Another member said their monitor exploded, provided (fake) proof, and claimed they promptly sent it to recycling center and that worked for Dell. The likelihood of a monitor exploding is also... very low to say the least lol.

If you're okay with sending empty package/ junk mail FTID is an option.
Unfortunately, I have to retire from SE.

Then why did you recommend this?

Please be careful when giving advice- as Inaccurate Information can result In a failed SE.

Similar to how "missing item" is also very unlikely, but still happens, there's no reason not to use the missing item method just because it's unlikely to happen.
Capacitors (and any physical hardware) is always prone to failure. Also, I did mention that I was pulling a few strings and the method can be vastly improved.

Got it. I'll make sure to be more specific that it's an idea (that I'm hoping for other users' inputs to improve it) and not a proven working plan in the future.

The missing Item does In fact have a very high chance of success, when used against an (suitable) Item that warrants the method Itself.

As SE'rs, we work with methods that predominantly succeed, and not those that have a minimal Impact on the claim at hand. This will be a waste of time, effort and resources which Is certainly not good practice.
