Personally i hate police reports due to my last hassle they wouldnt take any of the reports i send Them, took me 4 attempts and they still didnt accept IT, had to call leadership team a million times before i got my refund, took 3 Weeks and a Lot of phone calls.

Nope this was Amazon om EU resident, so to be fair never been too familiar with either bestbuy or amazon, had to go really hardcore on Amazon the last time with my special EU rights that they have to respect, and reference several law pragraphs to finally make a rep budge.. it took legit like 50ish attempts and a dozen phonecalls a handful of official police documentation, but it was Worth it.

I did this some time ago but I tried claiming that I ordered a monitor but never received it, so never received method, and they made mention of launching nvestigation and possibly contacting authorities.

You used the DNA (Did Not Arrive) method.

Based on your personal experience with Best Buy, they certainly do open Investigations and (possibly) request a police report.

Did you go through with this? I'm also in Canada, about to give BestBuy a test, it's been a while, but I don't recall they needed 1. However, the item was under 500 and it was years ago.
