Boxing Amazon #1
When boxing Amazon, is it best to send them a box with weight equivalent to that of the product which we are returning? I imagine this might vary between different carriers. If so, anyone happen to know which carriers in particular are more anal about weight-checking?

Correct. Boxing Is carrier-based, hence this applies to all companies.

All major carriers document both the weight & dimensions at their depot, and charge their rates on volume or weight- whichever Is the greater.

First and foremost, what's the weight of the Item you're planning to SE?

The item in question is about 4lbs. I was unaware that they check dimensions too. I assume there are crucial in successfully boxing Amazon then?

It's not too heavy (1.8 Kg), but you will need a weight substitute to box them.

They most certainly do.

As said, checking/documenting weights & dimensions Is for payment purposes. They'll charge freight on whatever Is the greater of the two- weight or volume.

Forget about the company.

The carrier ships the package not the company, so It's the carrier you should be focusing on.

What if the label is prepaid? Wouldn't the weight and dimensions already be included in the label if that were the case, since those values already had to be specified (I assume) when making the prepaid label on the carrier's website? I assume that even if the label specifies a certain weight, they still weigh the parcel again once it reaches their warehouse, right?

I'm just trying to figure out if it is necessary to add weight to a parcel when using the tracking ID method.

Irrespective of prepaid labels, the carrier still weighs the package at their depot.

It's their process when dispatching consignments.
