It's a shame they ended security updates for 7. A lot of people opted to stick with it after 8 was released. Some older applications only run on 7, as well.

It really is sad. Win7 was a really good OS. I ended up getting spammed with the free upgrade to Win10 Pro. Looked appealing and the UI was pretty attractive.

Updates are not needed for the OS to function, nor are they an Integral part of Its operability/usability and overall security.

I've been on the Windows platform since the good old 16-bit Windows 3.1 back In the early 90s, and have not performed a single update In 3 decades of computing. My systems have been (and to this day) still functioning at their optimal state.
