I was thinking about SE'ing a $700 BenQ Monitor from Amazon but I don't wanna have to deal with filing a police report. I've been considering SE'ing Best Buy for it but don't know whether or not they'll require a police report like Amazon since it's a decently high value item. If anyone who has SE'd Best Buy could answer this question that'd be greatly appreciated

I don't feel comfortable going into the local police station to file a report. I'm not sure if Toronto has an option to file one online though, that'd be so much better tbh.

For the most part, yes, however nothing Is guaranteed when SEing.

Personally i hate police reports due to my last hassle they wouldnt take any of the reports i send Them, took me 4 attempts and they still didnt accept IT, had to call leadership team a million times before i got my refund, took 3 Weeks and a Lot of phone calls.

We're all aware of how Amazon operates with their claims management, hence It's best to opt for an entity you're familiar with.

Nope this was Amazon om EU resident, so to be fair never been too familiar with either bestbuy or amazon, had to go really hardcore on Amazon the last time with my special EU rights that they have to respect, and reference several law pragraphs to finally make a rep budge.. it took legit like 50ish attempts and a dozen phonecalls a handful of official police documentation, but it was Worth it.
