I assume the HDDs are enclosed In a box, correct?
I was about to continue with this SE but now the weighs have changed.  The 1TB now says it weighs 730gs but the 4TB says. The weight changes a lot depending on the site as well i.e different by 100s of grams on ebuyer than it is on scan. Don't know why amazon changes its weight so much however.... :/

Given you're SEing Amazon, you'd have to stick with their weight(s) that's displayed on their very own website.

Or Is there Inconsistencies with this as well?
There is in a sense as the 1TB model is a lot lighter some how than the rest which means going by amazons weights it's to big of a weight difference for the SE to succeed. I could buy the 500GB model which weighs 449gs but is £40 and do the 3TB model but that's £73 which isn't a big price deal to waste a good SE on a amazon account

EDIT: Ok now if I select the 1TB model which is grayed out it shows the weight to be 499gs maybe it is safe to do, amazon does my head in at times

got the refund.

I believe it, but how long ago was this? I think Amazon is more strict now than before, especially with these kinds of returns.

Generally with our forum, I figured this went without saying. However, recent discussion has led me to believe otherwise. People are encouraged to read and follow our rules, especially those regarding illegal content. You have been warned - @Oni

I don't understand how Amazon cannot document the correct weight. You'd expect a company on that scale, to be competent with such a simplistic task.

Take a screenshot of the Image, or save the web page.

In the event they change It and try to decline your claim, you'll have evidence to prove otherwise.

Wouldn't they check the log themselves and notice the difference? Great idea tho just worried theyll check, maybe I can try modifying the webpage to say 499gs risky but could work? Now you can't even select the side in the boxes you gotta find them manually via search lol Only issue is if they can check the weigh difference changes at all

What I'm saying Is, If the specs on the webpage (namely the weight) Is accurate at the time of the SE, save a copy.

As you've mentioned above, Amazon seems to be Inconsistent with their weights hence If they've altered It, you have a saved copy In support of your claim.

Good point if it was accurate at the time of SE it is likely to succeed. Gonna have to wait a while as the drive is out of stock sadly

What a shame.

I'm quite eager to see how this progresses and most Importantly, the turn of events leading to the successful outcome. Yes, "successful outcome"- as I firmly believe that this will have a positive result.

I should've taken advantage of it when it was instock, I could go for the 6TB but it saying it weighs so much less is a put off. And I'm not comfortable risking loosing £160

Unless It was on back order at the time, you couldn't have known further down the track that they'd be out of stock.

I would've done the exact same.

It's not worth the risk.

The method you're using, Is heavily based on the precision/approximation of the Item's weight.

It did was it was low in stock then they kept saying they were in stock. Shame, I'd do a SSD but naturally they cost tons more despite being the exact same weight
