Switching items on Amazon #1
so i wanted to get a newer version of the camera i currently have (sony a7) and my plan is to get a more recent one like the a7 III or a7RIII

ive been pretty lucky by changing items inside the sealed box and returning it back
therefore i had the idea to do it in this case again, buy the new version open the box without any traces swap the items (and ensure the weight is the same afterwards) seal the box back up and return it
since the box seems to be unopened and with the exact same weight they should immediately hand out the refund to me when it gets processed

i also had the idea of buying it from the amazon warehouse deals but as far as i know they check the items before sending out so even though the box might be open its still more likely that theyll deny it because it was verified as the a7 III

additionally im not in the best terms with amazon as i got banned on a few accounts (only on one for refunding the rest was just linked) thats why i was planning on using a new unlinked one

Is there any Indication (no matter how small), that the box may appear to be tampered with?

Easily achieved on the sony boxes with a basic heat gun.

OP, if possible, please keep us updated, as im looking at doing this with a 1.5k sony lens in the near future. Highest value i have done this with is a $500 cpu. Replaced with a $10 one from ebay. Resealed virtually perfectly. Refund issued while item was in transit after a few days. Not heard back since. Unless they have some kind of protocol in place that flags high value items, over a certain amount, to be inspected extra carefully, I think you should be good to go. However seeing as they dont class a $500 CPU as a high value item, I dont see why they would treat a 2k mirror-less differently. So its worth a shot, in my opinion. Good luck, and please report back if possible :]

If it looks similar it will probably work just read recent nintendo switch and 2080ti reviews on Amazon to see just how often this works.

yeah i had a similar method were i was(technically still am) able to do almost any cpu i want without any risk at all
it did require me to invest a small amount each time but i easily made like 1000$ profit each time i have done it
in hindsight i shouldve done it more often, not really worth it nowadays
@durden666

thats the biggest issue for me to determine right now @mothered
will need to test a bit with the box i have right now and my heatgun
in the unboxings i watched in preparation the boxes and security tape looked identical to mine

sorry for the mentions but quoting didnt seem to work as i cant post links yet

If that's the case, I believe you'll be fine. Given there's no Inconsistencies with the box, then there's no reason to check.

Please keep us updated.
