As I keep mentioning (and will continue to do so where warranted), please provide the weight of the Item.
Depending on the nature of the buckle, If It's light enough, the partial/missing Item method will suffice.

I can’t do the partial method as I’ve already ordered.

Okay, then It's the DNA.

Do the drivers for the carrier In question actually leave packages at the premises, or do they (only) strictly request a signature on delivery?

They require a signature I don’t believe they leave it outside but that doesn’t mean to say it hasn’t happened before and that it won’t happen when they deliver mine

I see your point, and It could work (or fail) depending on a very Important factor as follows.
If they have a 100% record of obtaining a signature on delivery, then It will well and truly work against your claim- more than likely fail.

May I ask why the weight of the item is relevant? I've seen people talk about this before but never understood why.

You certainly may ask, and It's my pleasure to answer.
When using the missing Item or partial method, It's based against the weight of the Item. For Instance, you wouldn't say that a laptop that weighs1.5 KG was missing when the delivery was accepted.
In simple terms, the majority of companies cross-check the consignment with the carrier, and If the "dispatched" weight matches the "delivery" weight, then the Item was not missing, hence the SE will fail. If the Item Is extremely light and does not register a weight, then the SE will succeed- namely due to not being able to verify the weight on the consignment.

Ahh I see, that's pretty clever. Thanks for clarifying.
