Boxing vs. Missing item #1
Hi everyone,

I'm planning to order a pretty light electronic device from Amazon.it and I don't know which one of these two method would be better.

1. Order the device -> Pretend there was only paper inside the box and not the item's box -> Ask refund for missing item

or

2. Order the device -> Ask to return the item -> Box the package with paper and some bad wrapping, giving it that tempered-look.

Which one you guys think would be better?

Thank you in advance.

How light are we talking? like 30 grams, 1 pound? If you're talking Apple air pods, I would say option 1. If you're talking like a phone, I would say maybe something battery leakage.

I think that packed it will be around 350-400g. So i was thinking to pretend that just the device was stolen and the packaging left inside. So the missing weight would be around 100g.

That's around the maximum weight for the missing Item method.

If you're Intending to box them, be sure to show signs that're consistent with tampering.

Thank you. I'm going to call and act the Missing Item part. There is only brown paper inside. Must be a joke >Tongue

Before that I'm going to weigh the item and the exact same weight of paper to see if it would fit inside the box.

@mothered you think they can start an investigation even if I say it was not tempered at all but the item is missing? I have a pretty decent account with a lot of orders and just 1 DNA in his history.

Thank you.

The nature of the method may warrant an Investigation, namely cross-checking the consignment details (weight) with the carrier.

It's not always the case with every company, but does happen more often than not.
