I have mixed results with this.
Sometimes you need to fill in a form and other times you just need to verify the phone number.

I feel like that when you fill in the form you will have it for longer. One of my sites went down after about 2 days, and other sites are still running after a couple of weeks.

I only deal with .com & .net, and some new domain extensions that're sought-after. A domain name Is a representation of It's website/blog, hence Imperative to opt for a good one.

Yeah - I think this is important for anyone building scam shops/account shops etc. - no one wants to deal with a .tk website or something free. It shows that they dont even have enough money to do the basics, so they're more likely to scam/rip for even a small amount


That said, I wouldn't mind if we went back to the days of 'every domain extension has a purpose' - it used to be that .com was for companies, .org for free orgs/charities etc. It made it a lot easier to know what you were dealing with straight away.

Nowadays, apart from restrictions for certain domains based on location, practically anyone can register any domain name for whatever purpose they see fit.
