So I thought of something today, if i ordered an item from argos then get a refund from it then the next day return it instore for another refund will it work?? Or will it come up as already refunded? The aim is to get free money lol

I believe online and store orders are separate. I dont think you can get a refund in store for something purchased online and vice versa. Even if you could the order number would show as refunded on the system.

I wouldn't do that. Nothing is worse than getting confronted in the store itself.

Unless they used two completely different systems for their inventory system, and had to update them manually, this would not work. Your item has serial numbers and an order number, so once it's refunded it will be updated in their systems. If you were to try this, I would go to the store first at least. That way you're not getting arrested / detained in the store. With the email, you could claim someone hacked your email or just play dumb about it.

If you're after money unethically, you're better off saying the package never arrived or something along those lines and try to get another one sent to you. From there you could return one then sell the other through ebay, craigslist, etc.

I've done this with other retailers, and It's worked fine. However given I didn't have a POP, I was Issued an In-store credit.

A significant contributing factor to a successful SE, Is "timing". Be sure to do It when they're absolutely flat out serving customers, and preferably toward close of business on a Friday. They'd be tired from the working week (hence not as alert), and simply want to end the day In readiness for the weekend.

as mentioned above by mothered, This should be done solely on the factor of you getting store credit. Unless the store you're going to issues full cash refunds without receipt which I highly doubt they do.

It's advised to not do this as mentioned before, an order could be refunded online and the order number could be flagged as "refunded" already.

Be careful with your timing as well. Get a feel on their "rush hours" and try then, IF you wish to go that route.
