Heavy SE from Amazon #1
Hey all,
I've ordered an item from Amazon which i'm trying to SE for the first time. I've done some food delivery SEs in the past which I've gotten sorted very easily. This is my first product SE. I had read elsewhere before discovering this forum that certain products are better to do i.e. kitchen appliances as they're less suspicious than iPads etc., so I ordered a kitchen appliance worth ~$300. I've realised since ordering that the product is almost 15kg Zipped. From looking at the ETA for delivery, chances are that when the postman arrives there'll be nobody here, in which case it'll be returned to my local PO where I'll have to pick it up (ID required etc.). I've casually asked at the PO and once they try to deliver once it'll stay in the PO, they won't retry delivery. Any ideas on the best way of going about this?

Does the PO take a copy of the ID, or do they visually verify the details? Also, what does "etc" Include?

I ended up cancelling the order due to its weight. I bought a much smaller product instead and SEd that very easily.

The PO are actually very lax about IDs over noticed. Didn't ask me for any last week for a different product, and some guy ahead of me just called out his phone number which was printed on the box as proof. Very easy to manipulate.

The majority In my locality are somewhat similar.

If they request for ID, they have a quick look and hand It back- no copies are taken. They're easily SEd by picking up the package and a week or so later, going back to pick It up. Obviously It will not be there (you already have It), hence It'll point to an error on their part that they've (supposedly) handed It to the wrong person.
