I plan on purchasing an item worth ~$150 on eBay. Is there any way I could refund the purchase? If not, I plan on buying a gift card with PayPal then disputing it and using that to make the purchase. What would be a good gift card vendor that would not respond to the PayPal dispute, Gyft? Ebay? GiftCardMall.com? Giftcards.com?

If it is from a standalone seller on eBay and not a company that is a scummy thing to do. Though the gift card may be the way to go, I'd say any of those sites would work.

Yeah I wasn't sure if I can refund eBay without it costing the seller himself. I guess I'll try gyft as it's a large company.

Large companies can take the hit somewhat, but smaller sellers won't be able to compensate for the loss. Good choice by not affecting smaller sellers.

There are so many methods that have proven their success and the amount you're looking to SE, should not pose a problem.

If you're dead set on going with eBay and all else fails, chargebacks nearly always go in the buyer's favor.
