Pro Boxing tips #1
It seems like boxing is the go-to method unless a return is not required. So, looking for good boxing method hints. Specifically viable alternatives to dry ice and other weighting methods (I'm tired of calculating the melting times and adjusting to shipping times by certain shippers in summer and otherwise).

Also, any advises on when the SE is not working because the target is refusing to accept a return (empty "tempered with box" scenario) and refers to a shipping company to open an investigation/file an insurance claim instead?

Thanks in advance Blush

If the Item (example, Ram) Is used for the empty box method, there's no need to add dry Ice- It weighs next to nothing, hence will not register a notable weight during transit. Alternatively, you can do a partial refund by ordering a few Items and advise that the Item In question was missing.

An Investigation Is part of company protocol based on the account's holders circumstances at the time.

Wait for the outcome of the Investigation. Your next course of action will be based on their reply.

When you send the box for a refund/replacement, but "empty"- no Item dispatched with It.

Yes, smaller items are easier to work with, but what about larger items, like gpus, etc? Not arrived is easier for those, but could require signature in many instances, thus warranting a return, and then proper boxing is in order...

What I meant is if the target is pushing the responsibility back to the shipper (ups/fdx, etc) and advising that you as the sender should open a case with the shipper and do an insurance claim, and they can't release a replacement until the defective item is in their hands...? There is not much SE you can do here, unless the target has provided the shipping label and it becomes their responsibility as well, because say - if you had a choice, you would've picked a different carrier, than the one the target had used... or something like this.

You can try using cheap filler items such as paper and screws if you dislike using dry ice

Well screws will arrive... Wink Dry ice will most likely not. So from the standpoint of clear execution of the SE, it's "cleaner", if you will. However, it's hard to get, and a mess to work with.
