Generally speaking, If you corrupt a file that has a point of reference (In this case a police report), due to the fact that the police obviously do keep files on record, It may not work. The police can be contacted by Amazon, and no such file will exist. So disregard the police report altogether.
Tell them that you've attended the police station (again), and was told the very same thing- contact Amazon. Be apologetic but at the same time, demonstrate your frustration of running around to comply with their request to no avail. See what happens thereafter.

Just get a police report. I had to file a police report to get my refund and I never heard anything back from the police and I live in a small town. I just want to the police station, told them I got scammed on amazon and the officer took my statement then gave me a report number. I have the number to Amazon and I got my refund the same day.
I just wouldn’t suggest filing multiple police reports then that would be suspicious.
