Must be doable, what are you gonna buy?
Make your own believable story and stick with it.
You can manipulate that you needed the product really fast for a birthday or something and are now left with nothing.
Ask them to help you with this issue as you don't have money to buy another one.

tbh, it should be fairly straight forward. make up some bullshit, but it has to be believable. also if this is your first attempt, I wouldn't go so big, maybe under £100 for a first attempt.
don't get too greedy, that is how people get caught out.
in terms of method, there are tonnes on this forum, and I am sure you can come up with your own on without to much difficulty.
Good Luck!

Yeah. I'd not blindshot my first SE on something that costs £450. If it goes wrong, there's always a bad worst case scenario. Its all about being confident about your story, make a plan for what happened. If it's a phone. I woulden't say empty box, because Amazon UK have started weighing parcels for high valued items at depots and then weighed again when being delivered. I had an issue like that where they told me that the item was in there as the weights had matched at the warehouse and at my address. I had a nice rep and got out of it by saying that I didn't realize that my wife had taken it out and she didn't tell me, I got lucky escaping that.
Since its a phone. I've had no issues always reporting that the battery exploded or got really hot to the point where you had to dispose of it. You'd need to research more on that. I just uploaded a post on that method, and some tips, check that out, but I haven't done large items before. I have done the most at £100, you'd have to consult with someone who's more experienced, there's plenty here.
