How to break laptop with no evidence? #1
It's for returning the laptop and get the money back (That store doesn't sell them anymore so I'd probably get it back). The laptop is on warranty. It doesn't have extended warranty/accidental damage warranty.

I thought of overheating it but it's modern, so it just thermal-throttles. Do you guys have any idea in how to break it fast? Do the USB killers work or it's a scam?

Thanks guys.

USB killers work and are really easy to make, you can also use a hair dryer on the CPU to force it to overheat, I mean the list of possible ways to secretly break a laptop are endless, just make sure you have any warranty (void if cut) kind of stickers still intact (plastic razor blades remove them really well).

Why can't you just drop it off the top of your house, and just say that your kid accidentally forgot to tell you that he put it on the top of the car, and you drove off.

A strong magnet usually works if the PC has a magnetic style hard drive, and not an ssd.

If you're personally returning the unit to the store for a refund, they will not take It apart and try to diagnose It's loss of functionality there and then.

Simply dislodge the hard disk or PSU- just enough to lose functionality.
