My favorite meal is called mangú. It's a Dominican dish (I'm Dominican and Puertorican ). It's mashed plantains with fried onions. Usually served with Sunnyside or fried eggs and fried (Dominican) salami and fried cheese.  It's very good. For some, mashed plantains may sound weird and gross, but it's actually quite the opposite.
