Same happened for me actually. I have a lot of stuff from 2012, from when I picked it up and hated it shortly. Only started to like it since I came back a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, the learning curve isn't the easiest but the feeling of getting a triple /penta and turning a game around for your team is totally worth it
