In store SE failed - Be careful with 2024 Samsung box seals #1
The 2023 Galaxy S24 seals were easy to remove. Just show a bit of heat and the thing comes off almost effortlessly.

I don't know if they updated the glue on the seals for the new phones this summer, but those seal stickers are stuck on TIGHT. More heat, or even acetone might be needed for these ones. If anyone has tips on removal, I'm all ears.

As is, I didn't make a perfect re-seal and the store person got suspicious and opened the package. Managed to stay cool and exit, but damn that was a bummer of a failure. Will return the real item and avoid this store for now.

were they the clear circular stickers? they had those for the S23 as well in my country. I had the same issue, could not get them off carefully without damaging it.

No I'm talking about the paper rectangular ones, like in this photo. They're a bit more resistant to heat than plastic, so the glue melts before the paper does. That's why it's easy to replace without leaving a trace ... or at least it used to be that way.

I did try to remove those clear circular stickers on a phone package once, made a right mess of it. xD

I like the sealed box-method, but it's so slow and you always lose the package. And it seems they're really amping up the checks, even in store. Really have to rethink this approach.

Have you checked to see if those stickers can be purchased if in any case you mangle them? I know aliexpress and dhgate typically sell samsung and iphone packaging stickers. They may have these new ones available.

They might, they might not. The problem really isn't the sticker - it's dissolving the glue without destroying the box or surroundings. In addition, the surface needs to stay smooth for the new sticker.

I'm sure acetone would deactivate the glue - I'm just worried it'll stain the surface and make the job obvious. Will have to try that when I have some time.

I have a china-copy of the sticker from some time ago. External design and print is the same, but material is thinner and it's really difficult to make the glue stick. It would work perfectly on a clean smooth surface, but again that's difficult if the original sticker doesn't come off nicely. Notamused

Most big stores open returns for shit like phones in person, sealed or not. They are more than aware and small/expensive things like that are the one hit the most. They also just can't put it back on the shelf so it doesn't hurt to open it.

Just bringing this thread back to life. Does the sealed box work anymore I feel companies just open the boxes now. About two years ago I successfully used this method 4 time on three different companies . Recently I thought I’d try again on 2 of these companies and they both opened the box. Is this still a valid method?
