How are you supposed to fulfil their request when the police refuse to provide the report? Ask them to explain that.

I just got off a call with them. They tried to call my police department and they said the police could not confirm the report due to data protection. Then she said since they cant confirm the report, I have to wait until August 29th and call them again after they sum up their options. Seems so weird, idk if i wanna do that since its past the latest return date

Just keep going and contacting them every day few times a day, I’ve been in same situation just now and finally I succeed. Call them and keep pushing and asking to escalate , and ask to transfer you to higher management.

I just got off a call with them. They tried to call my police department and they said the police could not confirm the report due to data protection. Then she said since they cant confirm the report, I have to wait until August 29th and call them again after they sum up their options.

It's pretty much standard procedure when a PR cannot be confirmed/validated.

It won't hurt to request an escalation.

It's no fault of your own that they're taking x-amount of time with the claim, hence they should waive the duration of their Investigation and allow the return window.
