The shipping/gross weight Is Irrelevant.

As you're aware with boxing, you'd need to accurately calculate the sublimation of 1.2kg dry Ice.

Total kit is about 1200g (Lens and Camera), shipped package is ~5000g, 2.5kg

Have you thought about buying a carrier scan from someone? I have been thinking of Jessops in the uk with DPD courier.
