SE'ing high end alcohol 02-21-2023, 03:39 PM
#1
Any ideas on SE'ing high end alcohols like whiskeys, champagne etc?
Broken bottle method I would be wary of due to the volume of the bottle.
If it really broke your package would be flooded and this would be visible from the outside for the courier before it got to you.
If they did not see it would be sus to claim it and the seller would likely ask for pictures of the box that it arrived in.
If you photoshopped just a crack, I assume they would want it to be returned and you couldn't really justify a disposed product method.
DNA is always possible but prefer to do something else.
Any site recommendations?

Can always keep it as a collection piece and resell it later on.

Maybe you can say that there was a crack and that the bottle totally broke at the moment you put it out of the box ?
It's most likely that the seller will ask for a picture.
Alternatively, you can say that there is something wrong with the alcohol and that you got sick for example.
Which company do you want to SE ?

It would have to be more than a hairline crack imo for them to not ask for it to sent back.
Not sure how easy or hard it is to show a significant crack/shattering with photoshop.
Considering alcohol can make you sick and some people are even rather sensitive to it, it could be a bit trickier to pull off that method.
Could be possible by saying that you were immediately sick and telling them how you are familiar with the particular wine/alcohol.
No particular shop in mind. Amazon has some quite expensive alcohol but of course if you want something specific or really high end I would look to an international alcohol shop.
