So I want to upgrade my PC and most of the new parts that I want are literally the same brand and model but the newer versions. for example.. I have a Ryzen 5 3600x but want a Ryzen 9 5900x.

Becuase I still have all the boxes for the parts what I was wanting to know is could I just claim WIR (obviously as long as they sell the earlier model) or any other methods that due to me having the boxes would make it easier?
