Best Buy does not check sealed box returns.
In terms of the UK, I believe Currys operates In a similar fashion.

It's certainly well-suited for the fact that genuine photographic/video evidence can be provided on request, however most companies will expect the Item be returned - which you'll obviously need to circumvent.
Currys do check but hit and miss, would avoid.

There's always the possibility of the returns centre/Inwards goods department checking returns, regardless of the company being SEd.
I've had many reports stating Currys predominantly don't check but as stated, the possibility exists.

Got this from Apple DE website
"Apple is responsible for delivering products purchased from the Apple Store; the risk of loss of and damage to the Product(s) passes to the Buyer as soon as the Product(s) have physically come into his possession or the possession of a person designated by him/her. Legal title to the product(s) will pass to you when the product(s) are collected by the carrier at our warehouse. You will receive a shipping notification by e-mail at this time. Should be yes, basically saying that once you have it, it’s your responsibility which makes sense. They’re liable during delievery so you should fine
