Wrong Item - Argos 01-28-2023, 07:13 AM
#1
Hi all,
Has anyone attempted WIR with Argos lately? I did it a while back but wasn’t sure whether it was still working.
Are there any other electronic stores in the UK where this method works well?
Thanks

WIR won’t work with Argos as they weight their products, and have CCTV in packing and the pack of the vans ( confirmed ) what’s the item you’re wanting to se? There are other ways to go for Argos just so your aware

I did a gaming laptop a few months back and wanted to do another one, but at a different address with different details.
What are the other options?

What method did you use?
WIR?
What was your process I’ve never WIR Argos but I want a MacBook so might try it.
Also what did you use as the other item that was wrong?
How long did it take to get refunded and how did it all work as they scan the package at your door?
Did you say you got the wrong item sent to your address ?

As stated, Argos has CCTV cameras In place, hence the WIR Is out of the question.
For your reference, they also open sealed box returns (In-store).

Thanks. The CCTV must be new as it worked around 6 months ago.
Yes, open to any methods

Bought gaming laptop online then bought really cheap one in store. Called them and claimed they’d delivered the cheaper one. They collected the cheap one and refunded me for the gaming laptop.
Obviously still had the outlay of the cheaper laptop but it was probably 5% of the cost of the gaming one

No problems at all? Just picked it up and refunded you?
Also did you match weight? Or for instance can I get a £150 chrome book from store order the £1250 MacBook Air- then say they delivered the chrome book?

They've had CCTV for years.
Your claim may've been approved at the rep's discretion.

Had to call to chase them up after a few days. I didn’t even think about the weight if I’m honest. Would probably take a bit more care next time though!

I think the easiest way would be to ask for a replacement… as the drivers don’t care what you hand them back trust me.. so get your replacement no time for them to investigate then just take it back to store for a refund
Also if you ask for a replacement you can see if they are willing to swap it for you before you go and buy another cheap laptop to give back to them ?
