I finally got a reply after a dispute was opened. They have asked for me to return the item for a full refund, there is no option under PayPal for me to send a message saying there is no item.

I have had a response from PayPal, saying that I need to sign an affidavit, I need your thoughts on this because I don't know how far this document will go. I feel like they need this to move with the dispute but I don't really want it to get me in serious trouble (this is the first time I've seen something like this).

The affidavit may only be required to move forward with the claim, but given the nature of the document (legally binding), I always suggest not to sign It.

Ultimately It's your call.

I tried Eb airpods from john lewis , seeing the success from one of the members on here. They told me an investigation will take place for 2 days and then I can get a replacement or refund.

They got back to me today and told me that the investigation didn't find anything and now I should contact my bank to dispute it. Also something about how they can't check if the item is in the box or not. To which I pointed out the obvious, if they don't know, then how can they sell it to me and say it was there or not. The rep said that they are not disputing if the item was there or not, they don't know and therefore I should contact my bank so a proper investigation can take place.

This all took place over the phone. I have an aged account with 1 large purchase of £980

Any help on how I should procced?

You're gonna have to contact the bank, unfortunately. I just got a refund from John lewis for over 500. I did evri LIT. if you or anyone need lit done, I can. £20 per label.

I ended up giving them an affidavit and waiting for paypal to have a look at the claim. However, after 2 weeks paypal have refused because insufficient information was given. Am I stuck with these and have to sell them on eBay or should I reverse charge with my bank now?
