I don’t want to do DNA because of the potential implications on the delivery driver.

@mothered

Thank you for adding the links to my post.

I'm slightly worried because in the technical details of the camera I intend to return it says that the package weight is 1.62kg, but this seems way too much when the camera body only weighs 475 grams itself.

Also, do you think the difference in package size will matter?

It doesn't seem right.

The packaging won't be 1.2kg. Does It come with accessories?

As long as It fits In the consignment you receive as the correct Item, then It's fine.

Both the models come with a lens and accessories such as a battery, charger, instruction manual etc but I still can’t understand how the weight of the package I intend to return is a similar weight to the item I intend to SE considering the product wright of the actual camera body is less than the one I intend to SE and the weight of the lens is too.

I think I’m probably going to do a little more research as I don’t trust the technical details or Amazon, they don’t seem accurate.

What do you mean by as long as it fits in the consignment you receive as the correct item. Are you saying that I should return the wrong item in the Amazon packaging of the item I intend to SE?

You need to be sure of the weights prior to proceeding with the SE, so do exactly that.

Yes, that's basically how the wrong Item received method works. Upon opening the box/package, a different Item was enclosed.

Put simply, you're not supposed to have the packaging of the wrong Item - It was sent to another address, hence It doesn't belong to you.

That makes sense.

I've identified a different item which is a similar weight and I'm going to buy it tomorrow.
I've bought the item I intend to SE, but it's not sold by Amazon. Will this matter?

As long as It's shipped by Amazon, It will come out of their Inventory, so It's good to go.

RE: Amazon Wrong Item #17
It is, I’ll keep you updated of any progress. I’m just waiting for the items to be delivered now.

The items aren’t an exact match in weight, I’d say there’s about a 50g variance max but they’re in the same category.

The variance In weight Is perfectly fine.

I underestimated the variance in weight, turns out there's a 90g variance. I read in your missing item method blog that it's imperative to keep the weight below 120g so if an investigation is opened the consignment details can't be cross checked, so should this be fine?

RE: Amazon Wrong Item #20
I've initiated a return and used some sellotape to secure the parcel and reduced the variance to around 60g so I should be fine.
