That's what I mean - either Amazon allocates a carrier, or you do It.

Okay have realised I shouldn't deviate from the tried and true methods too much haha, I bought an aio that's about 20g less than the gpu from amazon aswell and will just follow though with the wrong item received method.
I created a new acc with random details, used a giftcard for the new acc and shipped to a pickup point in my town and will pick it up.
fingers crossed thanks again for the advice

Just to confirm both items have a shipping weight stated from the manufacture as 2kg, while the targeted item itself is 1.59kg and "wrong" item is 1.57kg and both computer components so likely close in the warehouse. So as simple as claiming the "wrong" item was in the amazon package correct? I do not need to claim the "wrong" item was in the targeted item box as I can see that would be manufacturer error instead which would complicate things?

Yes, this Is precisely what you'd claim.

amazing, so "wrong" item has arrived and is about 100g heavier than stated. But no seal just boxed with easy pull out flaps, would you recommend taking out some packaging to match the correct item weight?

There's no point - the package would've already been weighed when dispatched by the company, as well as by the carrier.

understand, so variance is about 80g between items boxes. Have started the refund process and was told after receiving they will refund me. I think my account is in good standing as i only have 4 cheap returns over 10 years so hopefully no investigation? or are investigations always done?

Sounds good so far.

The account's standing certainly helps to minimize attracting attention with Investigations, but they still take place with mature accounts.
