Revolut VCC, explain please? #1
Could someone explain to me how to set up a Revolut Virtual Credit Card, please? I've made an account and everything but there doesn't seem to be any option of creating a VCC. - only debit cards. What am I doing wrong?

I'm aware that identity details such as name/billing address etc need to be fake but where do I input all this? Am I missing something? I just can't figure this out Confused

Those cards are the VCC, as you can create and destroy them as much as you please

Yes, I've downloaded the application, have set up an account and everything too but there just isn't an option for a virtual credit card. There is for a virtual debit card, but just not for a VCC. Also, I've also come across people offer/sell VCC's with all identification/verification checks etc completed. There was a choice of having an account belonging to male/female or to an address anywhere in the world. Maybe I'm over-thinking this and causing confusion.

Is it just called a virtual "credit" card but is in actuality a "debit" card? But called a virtual "credit" card because you must load money onto it?

Sorry for the confusion, I've just bamboozled myself.

So you're saying that In order to proceed further with the virtual credit card option, you must add money to It?

Since Revoluta doesn't offer credit cards of course your not going to get a virtual one. You need to go to a good bank like Chase or Citibank and have a credit card there to get a virtual credit card.  I got it a couple times at Bank of America on my whopping $500 limit credit card.

I used to use Revolut,, Current, Aspiration, ext. but I will never use them again unless its for some free trial because their chargeback system sucks and you don't get provisional credit and will most likely lose and have to fill out pages of paperwork

Yes, Revolut cards are "debit", but that's fine, they work online just liek VCCs, only you have to put money on them first, obviously, why would they give you credit when you didn't do anything to show them any trust yet? Even real banks don't issue credit cards if you don't put some money on their account first, the more you have the higher your CC limit

Revolut's VBC, if you want to call em that, are just like VCC, except prepaid

That's stating the obvious.

The virtual card Is hooked onto your existing physical card, and Is obviously used (Instead of yours) to make purchases. Alternatively, a DVC (Disposable Virtual Card) works In a similar fashion, but on a one-off usage per card number.

Yes, I know that you have to put money on Revolut debit cards or link them to your *actual* bank account. I also understand the reasonings as to why one must add funds to their account. I don't know which real banks you're on about because I've never had to put money on an account/card first in order to obtain a credit card or gain a banks trust as you mention. A credit is exactly that: a type of credit facility, provided by banks that allow customers to borrow funds within a pre-approved credit limit, providing that you pay back the loan amount in the future.

And as far as I'm aware, CC limits are determined by your credit score such as payment history, credit utilisation, length of credit history etc.

I don' think I'm able to convey my question very efficiently. Nonetheless, thank you for your reply. Smile

Oh, really? That's rather poor customer service on their behalf. I've read of people having successful chargebacks with Revolut but of course all experiences vary. Don't think we have Citibank or Chase on this side of the pond.

Oh ok, you're from the US, that explains it
There's no credit score thing here in EU, CC limits are mostly based on the worth you prove, so having money on that account, having your income automatically paid to you on that bank and so on, that gives a higher limit
And, since we're getting debit cards that work online (in the past few years at least) there's really no need for CREDIT cards anymore except some very limited scenario (car rental is one of them), EU isn't big on buying with credit as far as I know, installments are more common
