The corrupted file method can be used, but do expect a lengthy process.

This is what they meant by valid proof of purchase:

Include a copy of your valid Proof of Purchase
A valid Proof of Purchase should contain:

    Store Name
    Item Name
    Price
    Purchase Date
    Serial Number

Well I have just received the empty box from Fedex for the "return", so before I contact them with the disposal of product, is there a easier/quicker way to succed? Or should I simply go with the above mentioned method? And when you say be prepared for it, you mean to be ready to spend time in chats/replying emails etc.?

The only way Is to box the return, but the Item Is too big, hence signs of tampering will be noticed during the very early stages In transit.

And honestly I have my doubts on such method as well, but could it really work? Cause I already have the package with the label. Or is it better to stick with the disposal method?

We're talking about Sony here, who're very switched on with logistics and freight distribution. Ultimately, It's your call.
